The use of aluminium refers to the aircraft from the air war that marked the River Region. The installation follows a winding form, inspired by the river as a metaphor for time and perspective.
Intimate spaces invite visitors to reflect on the dilemmas of the Second World War, without an overview – just like back then. Openings in the walls offer a view of today’s world, allowing past and present to meet. Inside and outside merge seamlessly. The changing route and slanted walls reinforce the theme of fragile freedom, then and now.
